Pass the Pez, It’s Over Today

Today is the last day of the contest at A Clown on Fire.

Thank you to everyone who visited, helped me out, and made this thing a smashing success. I have had a great time.

My dog was the only one brave enough to go near this thing today, and you can tell he didn’t want to. So I pitched in the gutter to go live with Pennywise. And then smudged the house with sage.

I had two ideas for today’s post.

  1. Gymbo Le Clown Photobombs
  2. Slide show in Photoshop recapping the week playing to “I’ve Had the Time of My Life.”

One was creepy, one required more time and attention span than I have today.

So I’ll recap the week briefly adding photos along the way. Pretend the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack is playing in the background:

  • Day 1

Ooo, a contest. Should I enter? Nah, you aren’t that close. You can just watch. Hmmm…well why not.

Type Random Comment mixed with personal anecdotes.

Reward:

Sucker! You have no idea what you just signed up for.

Wait, some people liked my comment? Cool!

  • Day 2:

Write a mini-post linking to the original challenge.

No problem. I didn’t know what I was going to write about today anyway. Kudos A Canvas of Minds.

  • Day 3:

Weeblibs!!  We wrote mad libs like crazy people.

We had a weebles party because my daughter loves them. Vintage Strawberry Shortcake came by. Le Clown looked on at the madness he created and laughed, and laughed.

I just started to get to know you Madame Weebles. Did Le Clown break you? We will miss you during your blogging break. I’m sorry for all that you are going through, and I hope the break gives you the rest that you need.

  • Day 4:

Roller Giraffe’s Caption Contest. All contestants and many friends wrote many captions. Le Clown and company read many comments. Clown noses were passed out.

My daughter and I let Sophie go skateboarding with Sponge Bob. Sophie was mad because she didn’t have her own roller skates.

Le Clown clapped his hands together, and said, I rule at WordPress.

  • Day 5:

Le Clown takes over the animal kingdom. We all wrote 40 captions.

It was far from a Lame Adventure.

There’s that clown guy again.

  • Day 6:

Truth or Dare time!

Jello rocks. So does Sara and this post was amazing. Read it, read it, read it.

A little bonus work and we can all face plant.

  • Other highlights:

Tracy Fulks changes the game (proud to have known you before this contest). The dog poop photo was a crowing achievement.

Christopher DeVoss stays funny.

Carrie Rubin stays awesome.

Emily made me want to go buy Gak, and also stays awesome.

I met some really great new people. I really intended to link to everyone I’ve already talked to a little thanks to Le Clown here, but I have to pinch this one off and be somewhat productive today.

But I had a blast, and I hope you all did too!

I’m very glad it is over, and however it shakes out, I am happy to have met you all and look forward to getting to know you better.

Thank you again for bringing the fun to WordPress, Le Clown and company, and carnies.

Now, someone please pass me some Pez.

If you could have one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Easy, Cherry Flavored Pez.

  1. Rachelle,
Have you ever watched Yo Gabba Gabba with your kids? I have “Weird Al” Yankovic’ song: “Hip Hip Hooray!” thinking about the end of this contest! I truly had a blast, and I am truly going to enjoy 3 years of sleeping after this! However, I am going to miss posts like these!!

There is so much love, so much back links, so much generosity towards other bloggers that I cannot give you less than 50 clown noses! And somehow, you must have known I was a Star Wars UBER fan!!

I’ve never seen Yo Gabba Gabba but if I’m this relieved to see the end of this, I cannot even imagine how happy you will be at the end of the day. (well, depending on what dare you get stuck with).
I doubt this will be the end of posts singing your praises. Have no fear.
Please give 15 of those noses to Alice because I have talked to her the most this week as a fellow contestant, and I had a picture with you and her clown drawing and a copied link ready to go and brain farted in my rush to wrap that post.
      Thank you again!!!
So much fun…and I mean that.

    • Le Clown and RFL- I actually reviewed Yo Gabba Gabba and all its horror on my blog. http://aliceatwonderland.wordpress.com/2012/06/04/of-cyclops-cucumbers-and-fuzzy-orange-hats/ That is absolutely one of the creepiest shows ever. I was very lenient on the cucumber cyclops.

I also love Star Wars. Geek girl extreme here.

The force brings the Star Wars geeks together. I love the movies myself, but I got a little burned out on them in my first marriage (he was a collector of the action figures to excess). I will check out your post, and it will probably make me stay very far away from Yo Gabba Gabba. I saw a picture of a grown man in one of the fuzzy orange outfits last Halloween on FB, and that was enough to put it on my don’t watch list.

      • He is truly creepy – it’s kind of a contest between him and the diseased cucumber as to who is the scariest. I think it’s him because he’s a real person.

Oh and I like the movies too, but partly because I think some of the actors are hot. My brother is a definite rabid fan, and so is the 8 year old – daughter. It’s weird.

  3. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH – Clowns are so terrifying….I can barely cope…everyone is participating in clown-induced mania…

  4. You appear to be very close to winning a spot on that blogroll, and you most definitely deserve it. Anyone who can write naughty one-liners in one post and deep and thoughtful insights in another should land on everyone’s blog roll.

And thanks so much for your kind mention of me! Not to mention all those other bloggers you linked to. You’re one class act. :)

  5. Thank you for the nod. I appreciate it. Good luck!

  6. Congrats, Rachelle and to everyone who was able to hang in there through all that GREAT craziness. You guys have some stamina, that’s for sure. Have a nice Labor Day!

  7. Dude, you have this wrapped up. Have fun winning. ;)

  8. I’m going to make Le Clown give you an extra point for saying nice things about me.

    • RFL

If I had a mascot nose to give back to you, I would give you a 100 of them for that. I’d thank you over on the other comment thread too, but I’m afraid I’ll make you both twitchy with more comments to sort through.

  9. I think you should pursue the “Gymbo Le Clown Photobombs” project. Think of the hilarity you would be depriving us of if you didn’t!

  10. You know, I don’t think I’ve ever had a Pez in my life.

  11. Lemonade Pez is actually my new favorite.

  12. What a great, hilarious post! Glad I found your site through all the mayhem.

I have Wizard of Oz Pez. And I’m good at sharing. *passes you the Pez* :)

  15. Congrats on your win! I saw the congrats you gave me, and I was thinking you won, but then I wasn’t sure and I didn’t want to congrat you if you hadn’t won, but I was pretty sure, so I was going to go check on Le Clown’s site but then brain farts and drunken fireflies and I forgot. So I came here and found so many familiar faces! Also the evil Gymbo. I love how you added in the Weebles. I miss Weebles. My kids claim to be too old for them, which is a bummer because now I can’t play with them either.

Also, I’ve been trying to design a winner badge for my blog, but I suck at photoshop. Still, what the heck? If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. Also, sorry about the creepy face avatar by my posts. I don’t know why Alice can’t stick around in her box.

  16. Also Spongebob as Le Clown was perfect.

  17. Red

Three things. 1. Super huge buckets of congratulations on your second place, 253 clown nose victory. Victory cuz you made the blogroll. Oh yeah. 2. I love, and I tell you what, LOVE pez. Which means fish in Spanish I think. I don’t know for sure because that was high school. Maybe fish in Russian, that was college. I used to collect the suckers and in a box somewhere have an amazingly random collection and finally 3. Because a list of two is boring and just really quite awkward in my not to humble viewpoint.

    • RFL

Thank you! I love the dispensers a little more than the candy, but they are both pretty awesome. I agree with your assessment of the two point list, so thanks for adding the third :)

Okay, you talk now.
